As young people we empathise with other young people who are forced to go through no fault of their own; often without fundamentals such as health and education. We are therefore involved in projects in South Africa and Kenya. In doing so we are also educated in the hardships they endure, and the richness of spiritual prosperity and friendship that transcends economics.
We participate in three project in South Africa: Streetwise , Sukumawenze , Little Eden. In Kenya, we
support the work of the Irish Mercy Sisters, who provide healthcare and
education to those in need.
As a group, we contribute to the financial viability of projects. While as individuals, many of us travel out to work as volunteers and benefit from an enriching and rewarding experience as we are welcomed by and become part of the communities we serve.
In the words of one volunteer, “[it is a] privilege to observe the work of the great people there. To see hugs and kisses being spread on a daily basis, to witness each child to be treated individually, to observe their dignity being upheld."
